Shakespeare’s Garden

If gardens be thy food of love,
Then we love thee more,
Clydesdale on Te puke,
Something Brown for sure.

Thou hast not seen botanical,
If you view not Brown’s garden,
Perchance the perfect place,
A challenge, I beg thee pardon.

How beauteous, finite care,
Doth it reason perfection?
Green-eyed jealousy! O love,
Shakespeare’s perfect section.

Black Shadow

Let me tell you of a wonderful boat,
Called Black Shadow, god I gloat,
Roams the Bay of Plenty stays afloat,
A big cheque I think was wrote.

Beautiful owners a couple of note,
Splendid children about four I tote,
Cold weather take your coat,
Love of fishing gets their vote.

Old Wheelie

I’m sick of all this rubbish,
And you might think it’s ok,
But you don’t stand here in the cold,
Every single day.

You treat me worse than death,
And feed me heaps of rot,
Yet rely on me every week,
Even when it’s hot.

You never bath me regular,
My smell is quite a reek,
And when the garbage has to go,
It’s poor old me you seek.

You really are disgusting,
The way you treat me is a sin,
When I come back in my next life,
I’ll never be a bin.

The Value of a Memory

You must not take for granted,
The joyful moments of your past,
And treasure every memory,
For in old age they rarely last.

Visualise your childhood years,
And paint pictures in your mind,
Of all the things you loved back then,
And people you knew were kind.

Carry these images with you always,
And consult them if your sad,
far better than a magic tonic,
Childhood memories make you glad.

So always try and remember,
Birthdays can age both you and me,
But eternal life is forever,
In the value of a memory.

My Brand New Suit

Oh my god! Look at me,
Wearing my brand new suit,
With pin stripes and nacre buttons,
I’m handsome and so beaut.

I’ll not take it off this week,
And I’ll do the fashion walk of town,
Just a serious face, going nowhere,
Wondering up and down.

And as the cute girls go past,
I’m sure they’ll have a wee look back,
At the middle aged handsome gentleman,
With the new suit and shoes of black.

And if a bevy of beauties gather,
And ask me of my name,
I’m just a serious face going nowhere,
My new suit is all to blame.

And for all the jealous men,
Who find time to stop and stare?
Let the wives and partners tell them,
It’s his new suit that gives him flare!

And you know how good it is,
This brand new suit I wear,
It says I’m just a serious face,
And I’m not going anywhere.

My Aphrodisiac

And it washes all my worryin’ away,
Takes’ care of that horrid thing called stress,
That if it goes uncontrolled for long,
See’s me become totally a mess.

And it washes all my woes away,
Provides a calmness to my soul,
That loves to be at peace each day,
A feeling of being whole.

And it washes all my blues away,
Has me full of life in a flash,
To my workday it makes me run,
In fact it makes me dash.

And it washes all my sins away,
From the naughty night before,
Yes!, I love my morning shower,
It’s my most delightful chore.

Love Thy Brother

Hey! Doth the family blood not call?
That you should love thy brother,
Alas, outrageous ignorance, no sign,
Doubt, maybe anger but why, nothing at all.

Fear not and wounds be conquer’d,
For I love thee all this day,
Life hath ways of being very short,
Grace thy friendship quickly I say.

Lord knoweth when I’m gone, then I’m gone
And what of the passion I did spew,
Unlimited offers of forgiveness to each,
Hath not it got to you.
