A Whiteman’s Truth
Today I thought the truth should prosper
And
I would admit
My failings to our black people
I never chose to be part
Of
The genocide
The disease
And
The wars
But
I take responsibility
It’s more like I am a victim too
Fate placed me in front of a nation
A beautiful nation
Of hunters and gatherers
And
I could not react back then
With dignity
With compassion
With conciliation
With love
With understanding
And sharing
Only with greed
