Hayley on Poppy’s Verandah
It’s about the safest place to be
An advantage point from which to see
The worlds go by and not wait for me
All her types running free
I’m saddened now and feel little glee
At what we’ve done opening our sea
To types that landed for no fee
Ingratitude I do decree
My grand daughter Hayley on my knee
A confused sweet soul I agree
She knows nothing of racial potpourri
And that terrorism is life’s debris
On my verandah I make this plea
Give her a chance she’s only three
