Fame and Fortune
No particular idea makes me see
That I can be better than thee
For I tried it all at least by three
And fame and fortune just aint for me
Doin’ things by half seemed to be
The best of my opportunity
So I settled down to a life of glee
And often slept on the river near a tree
Occasionally on a beach or by the sea
To be left alone was my simple plea
Such serenity feeling free
Roaming with an eagle or even a bee
In the fields of paradise I decree
So give up on me I’m a resignee
From today’s strange world I’m an absentee
And fame and fortune just aint for me
