A Backward World
Dangerous drivers without risk of fine
Not enough police to solve a crime
Politicians are liars in their time
Ignoring society a common sign
Suburban streets a dangerous place
Where kids can’t play due to race
Non-Australians can’t show a face
Lest recriminations should take place
Black Australians await their due
Where a simple sorry would surely do
Politicians with a different view
About indigenous people wanting to sue
In my street we feel no ease
Teenagers run rampant break our trees
Drunken louts if you please
No laws to deal with sleaze
And the world is being left to chance
Whilst criminals control some global dance
That drugs and suicide bombs enhance
And it’s all gone backwards in a glance
